This section of the Fawn River was called the “bowling alley” by the local property owners. At this stretch of the channel, the flood waters would shoot straight down like a bowling ball and strike the downstream properties with great force and destructive power. The funding source was limited on budget and needed to come up with an affordable solution that would maximize flood mitigation efforts to protect property and life.
L4 Environmental worked with the engineer to come up with a construction plan that we could complete in a short time frame while meeting the needs of the many different property owners. We were able to resolve disputes that had persisted for several years by opening a dialogue of cooperation and shared values.
